JAVS Actua is a fully developed automatic audio and video processor used in courtroom, police interrogation room, classroom and meeting room applications. Actua is designed with efficiency of installation and usability in mind. Using CAT 5 or CAT 6 high signal integrity cable for each microphone, camera and connected A/V device—Actua capitalizes on CAT cable’s superior noise rejection, worldwide availability and lower cost per-foot, versus conventional audio and video cable.
Actua is an automatic audio video processor (AVP) with 8 mic/line inputs and 20 mic/line outputs on the audio side. For video, there are 4 composite video inputs and 10 composite video outputs, either NTSC or PAL. Installing a state of the art audio video system has never been easier. Actua uses CAT cabling for all audio and video input into the AVP, these inputs utilize RJ-45/8P8C connectors, terminated TIA/EIA-568-B.
Once connected, the power of JAVS automatic and dynamic mixing takes over. Audio levels are continually monitored in the room and adjust for each channel—providing optimal voice intelligibility with reduced ambient noise. Whether connected to JAVS digital recorders, assistive listening systems or public address, you can expect clear, flawless signal attenuation, regardless of the amount of active microphones.
To further enhance audio, Actua uses Microphone Proximity Awareness™, which allows for the speaker to move around a room and the right microphone to become active. If the speaker is between two microphones, the system automatically adjusts microphone levels, providing a natural listening experience—no more tin-cup sound. Last Microphone On™ technology keeps the last active microphone on, allowing the speaker to move a long distance away and still clearly be heard.
As cameras are connected to the Actua, they are assigned to specific microphones. When a microphone becomes active, the Actua switches to the associated camera. The digital recorder is then provided with a switching video record of events as they transpire. JAVS Dynamic Adaptive Threshold™ technology prevents cameras from switching due to ambient room noise, such as air conditioning vents or outside traffic. To keep the system from false switching, due to coughing or sneezing, Sharp Noise Rejection™ technology instantly evaluates which sound for the switching video to follow. Doors shutting and books being thrown down on tables are disregarded and do not cause a false switch.
Actua includes many features customarily not available in a single unit. Designing audio video systems with Actua at the core removes many ancillary audio video switching devices. It is an automatic audio mixer, video switcher with genlock, white noise masking, character generating, USB controllable, single rack unit device with outputs for everything; including public address, multiple digital recorders, network streaming devices, security monitors, press feeds, multi-track recorders and video conferencing units.
